This will mark KNA’s 7th year of collecting items of food donated by caring citizens from throughout Kennydale. The drive will run through the month of November. As in past years, the Kennydale Elementary School will be the collection point for all donated food; please look for the collection barrel in the school lobby. And, of course, the school’s students will again be partnering with KNA, with the class that collects the most items receiving a pizza party! Last year’s drive collected 2,105 items from students and staff of Kennydale Elementary, with another 2,000 items were donated by Kennydale residents. Marcie Palmer, a longtime resident and supporter of the Kennydale Community, will again chair this year’s Drive. Please feel free to contact Marcie at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions.
Please remember that all Kennydale residents are encouraged to drop off their food donations at the school; you don’t need to have a child attending there! Acceptable donations include non-perishable goods such as canned food, pasta, boxed meals, juice, cereal, etc. In the interest of balanced nutrition, no leftover Halloween candy, please! KNA will deliver the food to the Reach Center of Hope. The Center of Hope is a Renton organization that creates a safe environment for mothers and children seeking shelter, a place for showering, laundry, food and counseling. For more information about them, please visit their website at www.reachrenton.org .
Thank you for anything you can share with this very worthwhile organization!
KNA is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life in Kennydale and fostering community spirit.
