KNA NEIGHBORHOOD MEETING
Tuesday, April 23rd (Please note the new date!) at 6:45 pm* At Kennydale Elementary School, 1700 NE 28th Street Special Guest Speakers Don Custer ~ Renton’s Mayor 1964 – 1970 and current volunteer historian for the Renton Historical Museum. Don will share his knowledge of Kennydale and Renton to give you an accurate and humorous historical perspective on current events…..not only what happened, but also why it happened…so come prepared with your questions! Larry Reymann ~ Chairman of the Renton Community Services / Park Board and long-time Kennydale resident. Larry will tell us about his work in environmental restoration of the May Creek Watershed, and about the new May Creek trailhead at Lake Washington Blvd., including a look ahead to possibilities for future extension of the trail. All kennydale residents are invited to attend this Quarterly Neighborhood Meeting, and we encourage your participation and questions! * Please plan to arrive at 6:45 pm so that you can check in, get some refreshments and chat with your neighbors prior to the start of the meeting at 7:00 pm sharp! …….more about our guest speakers ~ After his service as Renton’s Mayor, Don Custer operated the family’s hardware business, and then became a State Planner in Olympia, and then an assistant to Mayor DeLaurenti, and numerous other endeavors. In addition to his current work at the Renton Historical Museum, he teaches a current events course to Seniors at the Burien Community Center. Larry Reymann has been heavily involved in the environmental restoration of the May Creek Watershed for many years and the Renton parks Board for the past five years. Part of his work is to perform an annual count of the various salmon species that run on May Creek.
