Membership & Donation Information

The Kennydale Neighborhood Association (KNA) Board members send our warm greetings to you and all the other 2750+ households in Kennydale. After a vote of our KNA membership in February 2023, Kennydale Neighborhood Association is resuming collecting dues from Kennydale residents who wish to become members of the KNA.  Membership is required for residents who wish to participate in voting at KNA Neighborhood meetings.  All Kennydale residents are welcome to attend KNA-sponsored events throughout the year.

KNA is a 501(c)(4) non-profit organization, and all dues are used for the purpose of hosting activities, events, and administering the business of the organization throughout the year.

These are the current annual dues for Kennydale Neighborhood Association membership:
  • Families:  $20/year per household
  • Individuals:  $10/year
  • Seniors:  $7/year per household

Below is some history of the KNA, and all the things we do for the community. We encourage all Kennydale residents to participate in our various social activities throughout the year.
The Kennydale Neighborhood Association was formed in 1999, and is one of the 90+ Renton neighborhoods that are part of the City of Renton Neighborhood Program.

Defining who we are is best expressed in our Mi
ssion Statement:
“The Kennydale Neighborhood Association is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life in Kennydale, and fostering community spirit.”

We accomplish this mission by:
  • Communicating with Kennydale’s residents through the newsletter, via this website www.kennydale.org, at quarterly neighborhood meetings, and by email messages to our members.  The intent of these communications is ensure a 3-way exchange of information between Kennydale’s residents, the KNA board, and the City of Renton on issues that are important to all parties; also to help make our citizens aware of all the services and resources available to them through the City (see www.rentonwa.gov) and other entities.
  • Conducting social events throughout the year that allow Kennydale residents to meet, socialize, and gain valuable “face time”.  These events include our annual Garage Sale, ice cream socials in the summer, paddle board and kayak events, a car show, community food drive in November, a holiday bonfire in December, and our annual Santa Parade that happens the weekend before Christmas.
  • Implementing neighborhood projects that utilize funds from the City of Renton’s Neighborhood Grant Program, together with volunteer citizen labor, to beautify and maintain public areas within the neighborhood.  Examples of past projects include the “Welcome to Kennydale” signs and landscaping at I-405 Exit 6, and the landscaping at the Kennydale Beach parking lot.
“We really enjoy living in Kennydale. Jon and I moved here from Spokane 31 years ago. Our involvement in the Kennydale Neighborhood Association has helped us to make many friends, and it gives us a sense of community in working together in making our neighborhood a great place to live. It also has given us the opportunity to make a connection with our local Renton Government giving us a sense of really being part of the city. We belong!“

In all of these endeavors, KNA receives valuable support from our members, the Renton Neighborhood Program, and area businesses who advertise in our newsletter and who help sponsor our social events. To put all of this together and move forward in an organized manner, KNA is fortunate to have a dedicated and experienced Board of Directors.
